On June 4th, Kyoto Animation hosted a, “Hibike! Euphonium 2 Special Talk Event 1- 2-nensei Gōdō! Uji de Omatsuri Festival!”. During this event, the animation studio announced that the popular anime series, Hibike! Euphonium, would be getting two new movies in 2018.
In addition, the two movies will have an original storyline, which will be focused on Nozomi Kasaki and Mizore Yoroizuka, and Kumiko Oumae and her friend’s new life as second year students in high school.
The first movie will be directed by Naoko Yamada, who also directed the movie, A Silent Voice. The second movie will be directed by the director of Hibike! Euphonium’s first and second seasons.
Furthermore, Hibike! Euphonium follows the story of the Kitauji High School Concert Band as they struggle to compete in national competitions, after finally assembling a worthy band of competing. Both the first and second season were 13 episodes, and a compilation movie of the first season will debut in September 2017.
