One of the most popular character types in an anime is the psychotic female, which includes the sociopaths and yandere girls. This post contains some of the most insane, crazy, and psychotic female anime characters that we know and love, or would definitely run away from if they are chasing us with a chainsaw.
So let the chase, I mean the list begin.
Kotonoha Katsura (School Days)
It is understandable why Kotonoha Katsura would seek revenge against Sekai Saionji, but what got her on this list is what she did with Makoto’s head. Oh yeah, nice boat.
Nanako Saeki (The Flowers of Evil)
Keatle wrote a lovely review on this manga, The Flowers of Evil. A person’s true colors can be disturbing.
Ryoko Asakura (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
When I watched this scene for the first time, I was shocked. Ryoko Asakura came out of no where. She does everything with a smile though…creepy.
Mika Harima (Durarara!!)
Love has no boundaries.
Sonozaki Shion (Higurashi When They Cry)
Some of these psychotic female anime characters have very complex personalities. One of them is Sonozaki Shion. It isn’t her fault that she has Hinamizawa Syndrome. Shion has some sweet and caring traits beneath that manipulative and insane persona.
Belarus (Hetalia: Axis Powers)
There is nothing wrong with showing some love and obsessive affection to your brother…Stalker? No…I’m just his number one fan.
Beatrice (Umineko no Naku Koro ni)
Like Shion, Beatrice is another complex female character. She can be a cruel and wicked witch, but she also has an elegant and joyful side.
Minatsuki Takami (Deadman Wonderland)
A sadistic and manipulative girl. Is she your type?
Nashetania (Rokka no Yuusha)
It is always the innocent ones that are really the evil ones. (Sorry, if I spoiled Rokka no Yuusha for anyone.)
Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)
“Til death do us part.” Yuno Gasai is everything you wouldn’t want in a girlfriend. Unless you are into this type of yandere, well then, that’s totally fine with me.
That’s it for this list of psychotic female anime characters. I hope you aren’t too traumatized. If you know of any others, let us know in the comments.
