Hey everyone my name is Nearlywes, as you can probably tell I am new here on Unime TV. I thought instead of starting myself out here with a review we could listen to some music, you know, set the mood.

BOW CHICKA BOW WOW

Woah! Not that kind of mood! I was thinking more along the lines of awesome anime songs kind of mood.

Let’s begin.

Sword Art Online – “Crossing Fields” by LiSA

Though the anime may fall lack luster half way through it doesn’t change the fact that the opening song is amazing. The first few notes play and it already has me hooked, the beautiful voice of LiSA is an added bonus.

Fairy Tail – “ft.” by FUNKIST

The first opening “Snow Fairy” may be a wonderful piece of art, but opening 3 for Fairy Tail has a bit of a kick to it. It allows you to get pumped for the upcoming story arc by giving you a little taste of some action.

Soul Eater – “Resonance” By T.M. Revolution

Have you ever been at the gym and really wanted some Japanese music to pump you up? Well look no further with its beginning guitar rift this opening song will certainly do the trick.

No Game No Life – “This Game” by Suzuki Konomi

The song starts off soft and quickly picks up with the quick beautiful voice of Suzuki Konomi, it the perfect sound for an anime about being in a different world.

Irregulars of Magic High School – “Rising Hope” LiSA

With one of the most OP main characters in anime this song with its punkish vibe sets solid ground for an anime placed in high school. The characters trying to not only get through it, but also deal with the upcoming future they’ll all face together.

Cowboy Bebop – “Tank!” by The Seatbelts

It doesn’t just have an iconic sound within the anime world, but it also gets you dancing in your seats ready for the awesomness that is Cowboy Bebop.

Tokyo Ghoul – “Unravel” by TK from Ling Toshite Sigure

Is the perfect sound of someone trying to deal with their new life, and all while being surrounded by people who have been living with it for quite some time. It would cause anyone to (as the title of the song suggests) unravel.

P.S. At about 0:22 seconds the guy totally says the word taco.

Baccano! – “Gun’s and Roses” by Paradise Lunch

Who doesn’t like a little bit of jazz every once and awhile, and for an anime that is set in the 1930’s and the age of the Mafia, this song just belongs with it.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – “Again” by Yui

This is downright beautiful. The song starts off with Yui’s sweet voice slowly, but quickly does pick up once she starts to rap. It has to be one of my favorite opening that any anime has to offer, it suits Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood perfectly.

I am a sucker for piano, I admit it. Even with that being the case I think it’s easy to see why this is number one. Not only is Angel Beats a wonderful tear jerking anime, but it also has a great opening song to go with it. Lia’s voice is beautiful and really prepares you for what you are in for with this anime.

  1. Ah, so your ten favorite OP songs, then. Fair enough. From the title I was hoping for more of a discussion of ten songs that are “the best” in some way musically, or perhaps which suit their anime especially well in some deep thematic or emotional way. That’s all on me, though.
