About Your Lie in April
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso known as Your Lie in April began as a manga series by Naoshi Arakawa. It also has a 22-episode anime series that aired last October 2014 to March 2015 by Fuji TV. The anime series was directed by Kyōhei Ishiguro and was produced under A-1 Pictures.
The story behind Your Lie in April revolves around Kousei Arima who was once a very famous musician after winning a competition at a very young age. All was well until his mother, who serves as his instructor, died. Due to the incident, he experienced a mental breakdown during a piano recital. From then on, he could no longer hear the music he makes while playing the piano, even though his ears does not have any problem. Consequently, he stopped playing the piano.
Kousei’s world was already looking dull until he meets Kaori Miyazono. Kaori is a pretty and very free-spirited girl. Her personality even reflects her way of playing the violin. She deviates from the usual way of playing the score, which gains criticism from the judges albeit being the favorite of her listeners.
